Bcgeu Community Living Services Collective Agreement

Employees provide support services at a variety of community organizations, including private residences, group homes, residences, supported employment programs, children`s education centres, nurseries, mental health centres, municipal services and health agencies across the BC. Some 230,000 civil servants are currently subject to interim or ratified agreements concluded under the mandate. Community health workers are the largest classification group in this subsector. Community health workers are employed to provide assistance in their own country through mandated agencies and directly to the province`s public health authorities. The Sustainable Services Negotiation Mandate supports the government`s commitment to improving the services people rely on, making life more affordable and investing in sustainable economic growth. The mandate is consistent with B.C`s commitment to balanced budgets and good financial management. The agreement focuses on improving services for people and ensuring fair and affordable compensation. The BCGEU represents approximately 560 people who help provide assistance and services to adult recipients with disabilities and their families. Members of the HEABC and the Community Bargaining Association (CBA) have ratified a three-year contract covering the period from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2022.

HEABC and CBA reached an interim agreement on 12 June 2018. The interim agreement was reached as part of the BC government`s negotiating mandate for sustainable services and supports priorities for service improvement and sustainability. The former community agreement “Health Care and Support” expired on March 31, 2019. Community Living BC and staff represented by the BC Government and Service Employees` Union (BCGEU) have ratified a new agreement as part of the government`s negotiating mandate for sustainable services from the B.C government. . The British Columbia Government and Service Employees` Union (BCGEU), the Employees` Union Hospital (HEU), the British Columbia Union of Commercial Workers and Workers (UFCW) and the Health Sciences Association (HSA) represent workers in the community subsector.
